Transforming unused space

For this project, our challenge was to transform a previously unused and unfinished attic into an inviting modern living space for an artistic family. The client requested clean and simple lines, flat walls and ceilings which we delivered. Not an easy task when you have 100+ year old roof with sagging rafters. Another challenge was engineering and installing the structural framing for the new staircase opening, hiding all the framing in the narrow walls posting down to the basement, then pouring new footings for support.
